CYTIES is a city guide. Where to go, who to talk to when you get there, what to take with you: guides, interviews, gear picks, and a shop.
It started by rebuilding the site
City and feature banners, a nav that stayed put on a phone, a contact form, a map.
A store inside the guide
The store came next. The products lived in Shopify and I pulled them into WordPress, so you could buy without leaving the guide. People came for the guide. Sending them off to another site to pay would have thrown that away.
A new Gear Grid every month
A product a day, a fresh page every month, and then the next month was due.
The features and the interviews
Long city pieces like Telluride with Huckberry, and the Sit Down interview series.
Under all of it, the affiliate tracking that paid for the whole thing.
