Store, desktop and mobile

One project we worked on was our mobile e-commerce. Pat designed and built our first mobile version which boosted sales. His abilities as a designer and knowing the technical side helped us grow Way Basics.

Way Basics makes storage and furniture out of zBoard, a board they patented that is 99 percent post-consumer recycled paper. Their store was my job for about five years.

The big job was the 2014 relaunch. I designed and made it, and their first mobile version shipped with it.

The relaunch covered everything, not one template.

Not the desktop squeezed down

It was drawn for the phone from the start. The home page led with how the furniture goes together and put categories within thumb reach. Product pages kept the gallery, price, quantity and add to cart above the fold, warranty and detail underneath.

Five years on their store

The relaunch was one job inside a five year run: shipping rules and FedEx tiers, coupon codes, the order receipt, the returns page, analytics. Whatever the store needed next, I designed it, made it, and shipped it.
