Way Basics

The online store for storage and furniture made from zBoard, a board they patented that is 99% post-consumer recycled paper. Jimmy Chiang ran the company, and I was their designer and developer.

The 2014 relaunch

The big one. It covered everything, not one template, and I ran the cutover. The line is cubes, shelves, bookcases, and benches.

Their first mobile store

It shipped with the relaunch, drawn for the phone from the start. The home page led with how the furniture goes together and put categories within thumb reach, and product pages kept the gallery, price, quantity and add to cart above the fold with warranty and detail underneath.

With the team

Jimmy Chiang led the company while sales, customer care, and marketing ran the store day to day, and I was on Magento with them. Each team brought me what they needed next. Ground shipping had to show a real rate in the cart, so the shipping tables went in. Customer care needed somewhere to send people, so the help center got assembly guides and the icons to go with them.

Good Morning America

They were on the show, and I was on standby that morning in case the traffic broke something. It held.

Patrick is truly a pleasure to work with! We’ve work on several projects and throughout the years. Super easy going. His title Designer Who Codes is an accurate description of his abilities. He knows the technical side, but is also amazing at user interface and graphical language to conveying your brand/company. Highly recommend his services!
